I hate to say "I told you so," but...

I couldn't resist. Here's a new design to catch the zeitgeist. Now available in the form of bumper stickers, lapel stickers, pins, t-shirts, signs, and other fun items at http://www.cafepress.com/dakini_arts — or just click on the headline above.

Stumble upon yourself

When was the last time you Googled yourself? C'mon, don't tell me you haven't done it.

Well, I was pleasantly surprised tonight to find that my humble online abode for Dakini Graphics has been listed twice as a favorite advertising website at stumbleupon.com, a networking site for discovering and sharing cool sites.

Hey, thanks!

Enter, stage left

Graphic designers can be like the plumber whose own sink flows over. And yet... if we really believe in the power of communication, design, and the effective use of media, we are wise to walk the talk.

Why associate a blog with your website? Well, search engines love them... they are natural friends because they are rich in text and links and they are updated frequently. Their architecture is sleek, making them easier for search engines to crawl.

Plus, on a blog you talk about your philosophy, current activities and the things you really care about. So the search engines find you in a way that's most relevant. People get to know you, the way you think, and get a sense of whether they might like to work with you. And the reader can talk back, even better.

So, hello, blogosphere. The plumber is tending her pipes.
